What Does a Home Inspector’s Tool Kit Comprise?
Our home inspection tool kits comprise seven tools, including
- Pin/Pinless Moisture Meters: Detecting moisture is essential during a home inspection, as it can indicate potential water damage, mold growth, or structural concerns. Our moisture meters can measure the moisture content in wood (5 to 50%) and other building materials (1.5 to 33%). If you prefer non-invasive testing, choosing pinless meters is the best choice. These meters feature icons such as low, medium, and high to indicate moisture level. There is an audible indicator that activates when the moisture level gets high.
- Pocket Thermometers: Our TMP10 handheld pocket thermometers are used for measuring the temperature of semi-solids, air, and liquids. They can be used around the home for checking a boiler or hot/cold water faucets.
- 3-in-1 Circuit Breaker Finder: This helps identify the breaker locations in any electrical panel without removing power, check all your outlets for proper wiring, and test GFCI circuits for proper operation.
- Non-Contact 12:1 Infrared Thermometer: This thermometer measures the surface temperature of the object without making contact. It can be used to check around doors and windows for air leaks or analyze the functioning of heating/cooling vents for proper operation.
- Telescoping Inspection Mirror: This mirror is used to inspect objects that are not easily movable. They can be used to inspect around hard-to-reach areas, such as inspecting plumbing or electrical connections behind walls to check for wear, leaks, loose connections, fittings, and so on.
- Combustible Gas Detector: These detectors are used to detect the presence of combustible gases, such as Carbon Monoxide, Methane, Hydrogen, Propane, Ethane, Hexane, Benzene, Ethylene, Iso-Butane, Ethanol, Acetaldehyde, Formaldehyde, P-Xylene, Ammonia, Toluene, and Hydrogen Sulfide in schools, restaurants, offices, exhibition malls, and other public places. You can also use these gas detectors to check for industrial solvents, paint thinners, dry cleaning fluids, and so on.
- Water-resistant Inspection Camera: We provide a portable, water-resistant inspection camera (BR255), which is used to monitor difficult-to-access areas. This camera can be used to inspect electrical installations and plumbing behind walls.
