Process Calibrators

Process calibrators are handy, portable devices that accurately measure multiple parameters such as AC and DC, voltage, temperature, and so on that are required for new equipment installations, instrument calibrations, and industrial machines and systems. There are mono-function and multifunction calibrators, wherein the latter can process multiple types of signals. At Triplett, we offer various multifunctional digital devices including loop process calibrator, temperature calibrator, and voltage and current source calibrator. Most of these models provide accuracy up to 0.05% and combine voltage, resistance, and temperature process functions in one unit applicable for various industrial applications.

Know More About Triplett Process Calibrators

What is a Process Calibrator and its Core Function?

As the term suggests, a process calibrator calibrates multiple process parameters such as voltage, temperature, and so on in industrial setups, construction sites, electrical equipment installations and testing, and more. Their core functions are:

  • Measurement of electrical signals in terms of voltage, frequency, current, and so on
  • Process calibrators with thermocouple adapters measure and source temperature parameters such as thermal resistance and 2-3- or 4-wire resistance using thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). Our models also offer adjustable temperature compensation.
  • They source and help generate precise current or voltage levels for testing and calibration of instruments. These calibrators also source resistance values for the calibration of RTDs.
  • They simulate temperature sensors such as thermocouples to temperature measurements without the presence of a real environment.
  • These calibrators are used for loop testing of current and voltage to ensure signal loops function as required.
  • These calibrators have a memory and hence, are useful in data logging and documentation.

What Are the Types of Process Calibrators?

All the process calibrators we offer have on-screen low battery indicators, auto power off, and a built-in flashlight. They also include test leads, (3) AA batteries, (2) spare fuses, and latch key for opening the battery door. All of them come with a one-year warranty. Based on their functionality, at Triplett, we offer these types of multifunction process calibrators.

  • Loop Process Calibrator: Designed for device testing and calibration in benchtop and field industrial on calibrating 4-20mA current loops, commonly used in industrial process control.
  • Voltage and Current Source Calibrator: These types of calibrators are designed for sourcing and measuring voltage and current signals for testing and calibrating transmitters and other electrical and electronic devices. They source accuracy up to 0.05% and have an adjustable 0-20mA/4-20mA span with % readout.
  • Temperature Calibrator: They are designed for calibrating temperature sensors and related instruments such as thermocouples and RTDs used in industrial process control. Our temperature calibrators easily measure and source voltage, resistance, and temperature process parameters in a single device and offer an accuracy up to 0.05%. These are capable of measuring and sourcing 11 thermocouple and 5 RTD types.

What Are the Benefits of Using Process Calibrators?

Here are some benefits of using process calibrators.

  • They improve the device quality and accuracy of measurement, and can detect any issues beforehand.
  • Process calibrators enhance safety and efficiency by preventing any mishaps due to shorting or power leakage and downtime due to device failure.
  • They help reduce maintenance costs, as issues can be fixed on time and costly replacements of devices can be prevented.
  • Our models have adjustable temperature compensation feature that ensures accurate readings in any environment.
  • Their built-in functions such as flashlight, auto power off, low battery indicator and a simple push button menu make them user friendly.
