  • Q. How can I ensure my 8150 is properly connecting to new AXIS cameras and verify if the firmware is up-to-date?

    A. To connect your 8150 to new AXIS cameras and check for the latest firmware, start by ensuring your device's firmware is current. You can find the firmware version in the settings under version information. The latest version as of now is A6-P5000V1.1.0-V1.0.0-0221. For AXIS cameras, an initial setup on a PC is necessary to establish a unique username, password, and ONVIF user, and to perform any required updates. For detailed instructions on setting up AXIS cameras, please refer to the generic setup guide linked here: Setting up an Axis Camera to allow ONVIF Users or consult the camera’s user manual. Additionally, the 8150 includes an “AXS test tool,” which might allow connection to AXIS cameras without PC setup, depending on the camera model.

  • Q. I am unable to download anything from the Play Store on my Triplett 8150 CamView IP Pro 5, and I don't see an option to download the Play Store App. Is there an update or something I can do to resolve this issue?

    A. While we don't have instructions or support for accessing the Google Play Store on the Triplett 8150 CamView IP Pro 5, we found a workaround that might help. We suggest downloading the "APKpure" application, which is like an open-source version of the Google Play Store. From there, you should be able to download and update necessary apps. One of our customers had success using this method to access and program their Avigilon cameras. Please note that when downloading the app, the file size may be large (around 85mb), so it might take some time to complete the download (please be patient). Please note that as this method is not officially supported by the manufacturer, and we cannot guarantee its functionality.

  • Q. Is there an update for the software for the Triplett 8150?

    A. Any available updates would be found in the “Application Update” section under “Online Updates”. If your unit is connected to a network, any available application updates will pop up when in this section.

  • Q: When I select the “Cog” icon above "language and input" in the settings, I receive a help message about that specific “settings” section. Is this normal? Also, I've noticed occasional Wi-Fi connection dropouts during updates. What can I do?

A: The appearance of a help message when selecting the “Cog” icon in that location is unusual, but this issue should resolve itself once the unit completes its updates. Regarding the Wi-Fi connection, it's known that these units can sometimes experience connectivity interruptions. If the device ceases downloading updates after several attempts, we recommend rebooting the unit or disabling and then re-enabling the internet connection to ensure a stable connection.

  • Q: Having trouble with Axis Cameras?
A: Update the AXS App to version 1.00006. Follow the procedure provided in this [8150AXISUpdate] for guidance.

  • Q. I am getting wrong password and username message
    A. User name and password information is not an error of the tester. This information is the camera only. Our testers do not have any passwords or user information requirements. If you are having trouble with passwords you need to contact the camera manufacturer or refer to their manual for default user name password information or details on any special set up specifications they may have for initializing their cameras.

  • Q. How do I setup an AXIS Camera to allow ONVIF Users
    A. Download our Setting up an Axis Camera to allow ONVIF Users Document
and Axis ONVIF Setup V178 Document

  • Q. what is the maximum capacity SD card I can use?
A.The Triplett 8150 unit can only support a maximum 32GB SD card. Anything larger will not work with the unit.

  • Q.  Can these devices be scanned for Virus?
  • A. The 8150 can be scanned if you download the proper software (they have an android operating system that can add and remove applications).

  • Q. Can wireless be deactivated?
  • A. Wi-Fi can be enabled and disabled.
